Pike County's Instructional System

Developing Creative Problem Solvers Through Inquiry

Developing creative problem solvers is the core mission of Pike County Schools. We accomplish this by fostering an environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Through carefully designed units of instruction, we seek to engage students through inquiry learning. Instead of traditional learning models in which students are passive learners of basic facts, we use a number of instructional methods and processes to encourage students to actively discover new knowledge and solve problems requiring unique and creative solutions.
